About the Sex Therapy Assessment Questionnaire Scale
The Sexual Function Evaluation Questionnaire (SFEQ) is an empirically proven and validated clinical tool designed to assess an individual’s experience across four critical domains of sexual health: Problem Distress, Partner Relationship, Overall Sex Life, and Sexual Confidence.
This comprehensive approach allows us to better understand how specific sexual difficulties may be impacting your emotional well-being, relationship dynamics, and personal confidence. By identifying these specific areas, we can work together to tailor therapy to your unique goals and improve your overall quality of life.
This scale has been adapted and modified from:

Sexual Function Evaluation Questionnaire (SFEQ)
The SFEQ (Sexual Function Evaluation Questionnaire) is a validated clinical tool designed to screen for and assess the severity of difficulties across four critical domains of sexual health:
Problem Distress,
Partner Relationship,
Overall Sex Life and,
Sexual Confidence.
Sexual Function Evaluation Questionnaire (SFEQ) provides a reliable and structured framework supported by empirical research for clinical practice and assessment.
How the SFEQ Works
The SFEQ consists of 16 questions that ask how often or to what extent a person has been concerned by specific sexual health issues.
The response options are rated on a 5-point scale (based on your custom mapping).
The total score is calculated by summing the points for all 16 questions, resulting in a score ranging from 16 to 80.
The questions address symptoms and experiences such as:
Distress related to sexual interest, arousal, or enjoyment.
Physical pain or difficulties during sexual activity.
Partner-related relationship dynamics, such as frequency of interest and emotional closeness.
Overall satisfaction with one's sex life and feelings of sexual confidence.
Interpreting the Results
Higher total scores suggest more severe sexual distress or functional difficulty.
